So you wrote a book. Now what? Authors have to wear many hats. After you’ve given yourself a sore arm from patting yourself on the back for a job well done reaching the end of a long-time goal to finish writing your book, your calendar should fill up with getting it edited, getting it published and then – and then what? Do you sit back on your heels and see what the world is going to do with this gift you have given it? Not if you want to sell more than two copies. Now it’s time to jump into the marketplace and use your creativity to march that book right into the hands of all those readers out there who are just waiting to hear about your book. | Don’t be fooled, it will be hard work but with creative ideas you can find ways to also make it fun -- both for you and the readers you are trying to reach. Start by taking a moment to look at your specific audience from their point of view and see how you can best reach them with a message about your book that will speak directly to them. Since that’s where I am – in the marketing maze – that’s what I’ll be writing about over the next few months. I hope you’ll add your comments and give me some clues on how I can get you excited about my book. I need to hear from readers as well as authors. |
